Accreditors Put 3 Colleges on Probation
Cankdeska Cikana Community College, Erie Community College, and Western Seminary have been placed on probation by their accreditors.
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education found that Erie, a part of the State University of New York System, is underfinanced and lacks control over hiring and purchasing decisions. The college was placed on probation in March.
The accreditor recommended that Erie take several steps to fix its problems. Among them: Develop a cash reserve
