Accreditor Could Lose U.S. Recognition
A federal panel that oversees accrediting agencies has recommended that the U.S. Department of Education reject recognition of a division of one of the nation's six regional accreditors, a branch that oversees trade-school programs in New England.
That recommendation, made last week by the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity, came as the department prepared to reopen stalled talks with accreditors on crafting new rules governing how they review
