Accreditation Is at Risk for Small Alaska College
Sheldon Jackson College, a 200-student Presbyterian institution in Alaska, has been ordered by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges to show why it should not have its accreditation revoked. The show-cause order, prompted by a Department of Education investigation, gives the college until December 2001 to fix its problems. It is the most serious sanction a college can receive, short of removal of accreditation.
