Accreditation Is No Guarantee of Academic Quality
Judith S. Eaton's "Before You Bash Accreditation, Consider the Alternatives" (The Review, February 28) purports to respond to the American Council of Trustees and Alumni's study called "Can College Accreditation Live Up to Its Promise?" Our study made well-documented criticisms of the way the accrediting system works, but Eaton's essay sidesteps those criticisms in favor of attacking a straw man.
The straw man is the contention that we advocate the elimination of the accreditation
