Accounting-Standards Board Issues New 'Plain Language' Rules
It's not quite E.B. White, but GASB's new "plain language" annotation is a great step for clarity.
The Governmental Accounting Standards Board has issued a supplement to its latest proposed rules changes that defines terms, explains accounting principles, and describes how the changes would work. The board, known as GASB, hopes the less technical language will encourage nonaccountants to comment on whether the proposed changes will meet their needs.
