Recent revelations about abuses in the student-loan industry have been too egregious to ignore. When MyRichUncle publicized the industry's conflicts of interest last summer, we were vilified by lenders and financial-aid officers for "tarring" the financial-aid industry. It turns out that the actions of some financial-aid officials and lenders have tarred their professions more permanently than we ever could.
