Academics Urge Support for Africa
Improving African universities with the help of their American counterparts is crucial to the continent's agricultural and economic development, but funds for such programs have been repeatedly cut over the years, M. Peter McPherson, president of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, told a Congressional subcommittee in July.
