Academic Technology Lags in Accessibility to Disabled Students, Survey Finds
Colleges have a long way to go to make online resources fully available to students who are blind or deaf, or whose mobility is impaired, says Terry F. Thompson, a computer specialist at the University of Washington.
Mr. Thompson recently led an informal survey of college administrators and staff members about their practices for making technology available to disabled students. About 90 officials responded to the survey, though some did not answer all of the questions.
