Academic Boycotts and the Middle East
To the Editor:
John D. Klier alleges that the Association of University Teachers "routinely receives highly charged political motions from a group of academics at the University of Birmingham who condemn Israel as an 'illegal state,'" and that "since such broad motions have no chance of passage," we proposed four motions calling for an academic boycott of two Israeli universities at the AUT's annual meeting ("A British Union Reverses a Boycott: 3 Responses," The Chronicle Review, June
