Academe's Hispanic Future

The number of Hispanic-serving institutions is growing fast, and they educate a disproportionate number of Hispanic college students in the United States, according to a report out today from Excelencia in Education. The research group, which last year published a key report on Hispanic students’ use of financial aid (The Chronicle, August 10, 2005), says that the concentration of Hispanic students at a limited number of institutions can have pluses and minuses.
