Acacia Loses a Round in Court Battle to Enforce Audio- and Video-Streaming Patents
A federal judge has dealt a blow to the Acacia Research Corporation's attempts to enforce company patents that Acacia says cover online audio- and video-streaming technology used by colleges and companies.
In a ruling after hearings this month to define parts of the patents, U.S. District Court Judge James Ware found terms in the patents indefinite and invited the defendants, a group of pornography companies, to file to resolve the case without a trial. Patents can be designated
