Aborigines Blast Australia for Slashing Student-Aid Program
Black Australians are outraged by recent government actions that they say will deter thousands of young aborigines from pursuing postsecondary education.
Despite a promise by Prime Minister John Howard, on the night of his re-election victory in November, to make reconciliation with indigenous Australians his top priority, aborigines say they have seen little evidence of any such commitment from Mr. Howard's conservative-coalition
