ACT Scores Stay the Same as Number of Test Takers Grows
The average composite score of 2009 high-school graduates who took the ACT examination remained the same this year, even as the number of test takers grew, according to a report released Wednesday by ACT Inc.
The average score, 21.1, is the same as it was for 2008 graduates. This score is down from the record high of 21.2 in 2007, but the same as it was in 2006 and higher than in 2005. The test, which is designed to assess achievement in English, mathematics, reading,
