AAUP Censure Not 'for Naught'
To the Editor:
Lest Scott Smallwood's article leave the misimpression that censure by the American Association of University Professors counts for naught in most cases, I'd like to point out that Smallwood quotes the defensive polemics of a few die-hard university presidents who represent only a minority view nationally ("Censure, Be Gone," July 11). AAUP censure is still considered something to be avoided by most university administrations because it negatively affects faculty
