The American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general scientific society, has joined an effort to mount a presidential debate on science, technology, and the economy.
The effort, dubbed Science Debate 2008, is being co-chaired by Reps. Vernon J. Ehlers, Republican of Michigan, and Rush Holt, Democrat of New Jersey. It has been endorsed by several Nobel laureates and numerous college presidents, deans, and professors.
