Jack E. Daniels has had a love affair with community colleges throughout his 30-year career in education. But speculation on a different type of affair may have ended his tenure as president of Lincoln Land Community College, in Springfield, Ill.
Asked if he had engaged in a romantic relationship with a woman who worked in the college's human-resources office, Mr. Daniels, 54, told The Chronicle, "My private life is my private life."
