A Web Site Chronicles a Genetics Professor's Hunt for African DNA Samples
Sarah Tishkoff, a professor of genetics at the University of Maryland at College Park, spent much of the past year collecting genetic data in Africa.
Elementary- and middle-school students can learn about the fruits of her labor, and about the people she encountered during her fieldwork, at DNA Hunt (http://www.inform.umd.edu/CampusInfo/Departments/ InstAdv/newsdesk/dna), a Web site designed by technology assistants at Maryland.
