A Wave of Crime Puts Universities in Mexico on Alert
Walkie-talkie-equipped bodyguards and chauffeurs wait outside Mexico City's Iberoamerican University. More guards monitor entrances. The number of security cameras has been increased. The scene, like those at private universities throughout Mexico, makes María del Rocío Curiel, a 23-year-old engineering student, feel somewhat safer. But she also knows that she must take care to watch her own back. She doesn't answer her cellphone if she doesn't have the caller's number
