A Wake-Up Call on Sex Discrimination
To the Editor:
John K. Urice seems to think that he has shared an amusing personal anecdote about how his university passed over the best candidate for a job because she was "too pretty" ("Letters to the Editor," The Chronicle Review, February 11). In fact, Professor Urice was complicit in blatant, illegal sex discrimination, as anyone who was a dean in the early 1990s should have known.
