A University and Its Own Foundation Battle Over Finances and Control
U. of South Alabama has amassed a large endowment, but sees little in annual payouts
College rivalries usually involve two institutions. In this old port city, the rivalry is between the University of South Alabama and its own foundation.
The foundation is rich while the university is needy, and the bad blood between their leaders has led some here to worry about the prospects of the young campus.
