A Student's Education in the Politics of Protest
A few weeks ago, I traveled to Washington, D.C., as part of a college-student contingent that helped make up the estimated 75,000 protesters at multiple demonstrations in the nation's capital.
I planned to protest the war on terrorism, while observing all the other actions, like a pro-Palestinian march. About 150 of my peers came down from the University of Michigan -- not a bad showing, considering it was the weekend between the end of classes and finals.
