A Student Again: Leading From Within
Years ago, I read that Norman Cousins, then editor of The Saturday Review, a weekly magazine of art, politics, and culture, called a subscriber each evening before leaving his office to ask what he or she liked or disliked in the magazine, or wanted to see in a future issue. I was struck by the fact that this incredibly successful author and editor sought such advice. Then I realized that, of course, it was his understanding of his readers that made him so successful.
