A Shortcut to the Top?
"Hmmm ..." pondered the powers that be at Brown University. How can we add prestige and panache to our medical school? Let's start with star hires and a new, state-of-the-art facility. And if those don't work?
Why, change our name, of course. So in late October, college officials lopped 13 letters off the school's name, morphing the Brown University School of Medicine into the Brown Medical School.
