A Shortage of Business Professors Leads to 6-Figure Salaries for New Ph.D.'s
As course offerings expand, the supply of faculty members doesn't keep up with demand
David T. Robinson hasn't quite completed his doctorate in corporate finance, but he knows enough about market conditions to realize he's a hot commodity this spring.
In June, he'll defend his dissertation at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, but already he's received nearly a half-dozen job offers from top business schools, which are willing to pay him a six-figure salary
