A Scholar of Politics Joins the Fray
It's the rare academic whose research findings land her on a roadway median, waving wildly at drivers exiting a nearby shopping mall. But that is where Jennifer L. Lawless, an assistant professor of political science and public policy at Brown University and a Democratic Congressional candidate, could be found on a sunny Saturday earlier this summer, surrounded by placard-wielding volunteers importuning potential voters to show their support for her candidacy.
