A Replacement for 'In Loco Parentis'
To the Editor:
Glenn C. Altschuler and Isaac Kramnick are correct when they state that in loco parentis has been replaced with living-and-learning communities on college and university campuses ("A Better Idea Has Replaced In Loco Parentis," Opinion, November 5). The underlying premise, however, goes beyond eradicating the "intellect-free zones" that are perceived to exist beyond the sacred walls of the classroom. ...
