Critics question Connecticut College chief's tactics in trying to rebuild waterfront city
In 12 years as president of Connecticut College, Claire L. Gaudiani has become a well-known figure in higher education, through a combination of style and substance. Her visibility has increased in large part through her efforts to help redevelop this waterfront city and to urge other liberal-arts colleges to engage in similar civic projects for "social justice."
