A Professor's Right to Decide a Grade
To the Editor:
A professor has the obligation to assign grades in accordance with the guidelines established by the campus at which he or she teaches ("Court Says Public University Can Fire Professor for Refusing to Change a Grade," May 11). Likewise, students should have the right to appeal grades that they feel are arbitrarily or unfairly assigned. In this sense, I don't think that a professor's right to decide whether an F or an incomplete is appropriate in a given situation is
