A Priest Angers Theologians With His Ratings of 'Authentically Catholic' Colleges
A new Web site created by a Roman Catholic priest that purports to rate "authentically Catholic" colleges has fired the first shot in what promises to be a heated battle between moderate and conservative Catholics.
The Web site, http://www.mandata.org, ranks colleges by the percentage of their theologians whose teachings have been approved by a bishop. Theologians are required to obtain this approval, known as a mandatum, by June 2002; the requirement is the most controversial aspect
