'A Pleasing Birth: Midwives and Maternity Care in the Netherlands'
When considering the "Dutch difference" in social planning, it is common to discuss policies on cannabis and euthanasia. But there's another distinction that is easily as striking. Unlike women elsewhere in Europe and in North America, women in the Netherlands have an astonishingly high number of home births: some 30 percent.
