A Nonfiction Writing Course Brings Together College Students and Senior Citizens
As Philip Zwerling brainstormed ways to create a class that would require students to interact with neighbors of the suburban campus of Ursinus College, near Philadelphia, he made an unnerving discovery. At age 56, the visiting assistant professor of English and creative writing qualified for membership at the nearby Pottstown Area Seniors' Center.
The discovery did not dissuade him from making the center the focus of the new course, "Intergenerational Creative Nonfiction Writing,"
