How's this for a Hollywood concept: Working-class hero and champion of the proletariat turns out to be a backwoods berserker whose ax-wielding siren of a wife has visions of blood? All right, that's an exaggeration, but only a small one. Spartacus—leader of a slave revolt against the Romans—is back, and he has traded in The Communist Manifesto for Deliverance. Oh, and instead of a demure beauty, his woman is a cross between Xena and Circe.
