A New President at Southwestern Michigan

To the Editor:

I am the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Southwestern Michigan College. Our college was the subject of "A College Becomes the Family Business" (July 13). The new president of S.M.C. is my son.

Few decisions made by the Board of Trustees have ever received such wide applause in the college and the community as the appointment of David M. Mathews. It created no local controversy.
