A New Model for Textbook Pricing
I am the author of Government and Not-for-Profit Accounting: Concepts and Practices, a textbook that retails for $122.95, about 17 cents per page. By contrast, John Grisham's latest best-selling trade book, The Last Juror, sells on Amazon for $19.01, only 5 cents per page. Although I might like to think that my book is many times more entertaining and enlightening than the legal thriller, my students and their parents will continue to cite the price differential as further evidence that
