A New Look at Homework May Be Overdue
To the Editor:
The article titled "Homework? What Homework?" (December 6) quotes me as suggesting a possible need to revise the traditional rule of thumb that dictates "two hours outside of class for every hour in class." While that quote is accurate, it does not capture the substance of the points I was making. I would like to clarify those points.
First, in interpreting the National Survey of Student Engagement findings, one might ask how accurate students are in estimating
