A French Court Supports an Elite University's Affirmative-Action Program
A rare French affirmative-action program, which recruits disadvantaged students from immigrant families into one of France's most prestigious public universities, survived a legal challenge when a court ruled this month that it was constitutional.
The ruling capped three years of controversy over the policy at the Institute of Political Studies, widely known as Sciences Po, and could open the way for other universities to adopt similar policies.
