A 'Fantasy' of Immortality
To the Editor:
It is very sad to see The Chronicle featuring a story on Aubrey de Grey, and compounding this mistake with an online chat with him ("The Man Who Would Murder Death," October 28). The Chronicle might note that it is only one in a long list of publications that has written about Mr. de Grey; unfortunately, the story is typically uncritical of his ideas. For example, he is described as "a serious, thoughtful, sincere, prolific, even brilliant researcher." How do you know?
