A Dog's Life—and Death
Uga VI, the winningest dog in the University of Georgia's long line of white English bulldog mascots, was laid to rest last month after his death, on June 27, of congestive heart failure.
During the nine-year reign of Uga VI, Georgia's football teams compiled a record of 87-27 and won eight bowl games, the university said. The dog, who would have been 10 this month, weighed 65 pounds, 20 pounds more than his sire.
