A Deadly Blaze Prompts Action
After a fire kills 3 students at Seton Hall, college officials want better safety measures
At first, Edward Cunning heard people screaming and scurrying down the hallway. Then the Seton Hall University freshman smelled smoke, and he knew that this time, the blaring fire alarm had to be taken seriously.
So often before, he and other students in Boland Hall dormitory had ignored the alarms, dismissing them as a "joke being played, just a prank," Mr. Cunning says.
