A Dallas Banker Rethinks Teacher Education
Randy Best, a Dallas investor and founder of the American College of Education, wants to revolutionize the way teachers are trained in the United States, and he plans to work with school districts across the country to do it.
Under his model, a school district signs a contract with a for-profit college, which then tailors a curriculum to meet local needs. Admission to the college's master's programs is available only to teachers in the partner district, and in exchange the district
