A Continuing Need for Affirmative Action
To the Editor:
I am a beneficiary of affirmative action ("Affirmative Action Is Poor Public Policy," The Review, May 2). White people found a way for me to receive fellowships and other financial aid so that I could complete my doctorate. They used extraordinary methods to admit me to a Ph.D. program in cybernetics. Without these white people, I would not have a doctorate. I would not be teaching and doing research, and I would not be writing this letter.
I am a man of color.
