A Computer-Science Grad Is the Picture of Success

In one of the toughest employment markets in decades, Alan Schaaf graduated on Saturday from Ohio University with a job in hand and a boss that he already knows well: himself.

Mr. Schaaf (pictured) is the one and only guy behind the image-sharing Web site Imgur (pronounced "imager"), which attracts about 750 million image views a month and is ranked 127th in Web traffic in the United States. He spoke to The Chronicle via e-mail, saying that he is excited at the
