A College Finds Getting a Bond Rating Worth the Work
Living space at Occidental College is tight. Seventy percent of its students — many of whom can't afford to live elsewhere in pricey Los Angeles — call the campus home. Every available room in the college's 11 residence halls is filled.
For Occidental, which is striving to have all 1,800 of its students live on the campus, building more student housing was a must. Just as imperative, in the view of its Board of Trustees, was issuing bonds to pay for a residence
