A Chancellor Urges College Planners to Rethink Education
Portland, Ore.
George P. Pernsteiner, chancellor of the Oregon University system, stood before a crowd here Tuesday to restate a question that consultants and management gurus have frequently asked in recent months: Are we wasting a crisis?
The crisis, as described by Mr. Pernsteiner at the annual conference of the Society for College and University Planning, is deeper than the plight and survival of any individual college in the current recession. "If that is all we look at, we will have failed.
