A Carnegie Mellon Robot Finds a Meteorite in Antarctica
Nomad, a 1,600-pound robotic rover designed by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, discovered a meteorite lying in an Antarctic ice field last month.
That may not seem like much of a feat, what with robots building cars and exploring the surface of Mars. But Nomad's achievement is unique -- it made the discovery all by itself.
