A 1920's Case of Interracial Love

It was good to read the detailed account of the Rhinelander case by Heidi Ardizzone and Earl Lewis ("Love and Race Caught in the Public Eye," The Review, June 8). Readers of The Chronicle might want to know that it was Jamie Wacks who managed to locate the lost trial transcript seven years ago, when she was still an undergraduate. She used it in her 1995 senior thesis at Harvard University, "Reading Race, Rhetoric, and the Female Body: The Rhinelander Case and 1920s
