9 Students Killed at Texas A&M While Preparing for a Bonfire
A Texas A&M University tradition turned to tragedy last week when a 40-foot-high pile of wood being prepared for a bonfire collapsed, killing at least nine students and injuring dozens more.
Six bodies were pulled from the logs, and a state rescue official said he saw three more bodies that had not been recovered by late afternoon on November 18, the day of the accident.
At least 28 students were taken to hospitals, several in critical condition.
