Birmingham-Southern College played host on Sunday to a gathering of members of 10 rural churches in Alabama that were destroyed in acts of arson last spring, The Birmingham News reported. Two students at the college and a former student have been charged with starting nine of the fires, which destroyed the buildings but did not injure anyone (The Chronicle, March 8). The college subsequently said it would help rebuild the churches (The Chronicle, March 9).
