6 Deaths of Patients Undergoing Gene Therapy Were Not Reported Immediately
Two university researchers failed to immediately notify the National Institutes of Health about the deaths of six participants in gene-therapy trials over the past year, in apparent violation of federal regulations, officials said last week.
However, a spokeswoman for one of the researchers said the rules for disclosure were not clear. And a pharmaceutical company that has sponsored similar research has asked the agency to waive the public-disclosure
