The University of Tennessee at Knoxville has received a $50-million pledge from anonymous donors, a gift that if fulfilled would be the largest in campus history. The money is to consist of a $10-million grant and a $40-million bequest when the donors die. Half of the funds are to be spent on intercollegiate sports, especially renovations at the football stadium. The other half is for new programs in veterinary medicine and in engineering.
